The SkyWest Professional Pilot Pathway with Skyborne offers you an exciting and unique route to the flight deck with SkyWest. Our flagship FAA Part 141 program can take you from zero experience through a managed pathway into a career with SkyWest. Training with Skyborne Airline Academy, Vero Beach will provide you with the very best training facilities, fleet and instruction available in the USA. You will be required to complete selection with Skyborne, and if successful, you will embark on a full-time FAA 141 Program through CFI. Your training performance will be reviewed by Skyborne and SkyWest and if you are selected to work for Skyborne as an instructor, your CFII and MEIR tuition will be covered up to $15,000. As an instructor, you will be building hours and experience as you work toward your ATP certificate and the opportunity to become a first officer at SkyWest. Once accepted onto the Skyborne Professional Pilot Pathway with SkyWest, you will hold a Qualified Job Offer for SkyWest from the start of training.
Skyborne is also able to accept trainee pilots that have already started their flight training journey with another provider, and wish to transfer to Skyborne subject to passing the selection process outlined below.
The first stage of selection is to complete the Skyborne online application form using the “Apply Now” link on this webpage. You will be asked to answer a series of questions designed to gather information to assess your suitability for the program.
Your application will be screened against specific Skyborne criteria.
If you meet the entry requirements you will receive an email link to complete a series of AON online aptitude tests and a psychometric questionnaire.
Successful candidates will be invited to complete the Skyborne non-technical assessment day at Vero Beach, Florida. This will include group exercises, an interview and aptitude test verification. You will receive a presentation on Skyborne and the program, plus a tour of the facilities.
Shortlisted candidates will be offered a place on the course subject to meeting documentation requirements.
There is no fee to apply or to complete the assessment process for the SkyWest Professional Pilot Pathway with Skyborne.

Skyborne Airline Academy Vero Beach is the optimum place for your flight training with a 30-acre exceptional campus and 320 days per year of suitable weather. Our location offers a wide range of operational scenarios to test your piloting skills.
On site accommodation is newly refurbished, equipped with modern furniture and appliances, and conveniently located next to our flight training facility at Vero Beach Airport. On campus we have a swimming pool and a variety of sports facilities available to all our trainees. We are located minutes away from the beach offering a great work-life balance to your training programme.
The course price is $87, 638 which includes accommodation for the duration of the course through to CFI, all ground and flight training and FAA tests.
SkyWest Airlines will make a generous contribution to your training costs by covering the CFII and MEI phases of training, up to $15,000 if you are selected to be a Skyborne instructor, post your CFI training. CFI opportunities are offered on merit and achievement. An ‘Assessment Board’ between SkyWest and Skyborne at the conclusion of your CFI training will determine your suitability to become a Skyborne Instructor, while building 1500 hours and experience prior to being able to become a first officer at SkyWest.

This is a form of “money-back guarantee”, which is offered to trainees on the full SkyWest Professional Pilot Pathway. The Skyborne Guarantee is offered to Cadet Pilots who successfully complete the Skyborne/SkyWest selection process and achieve the required standard in the minimum stated hours up to the completion of the Private Pilot Certificate (PPC) phase of training. The Skyborne Guarantee provides peace of mind for the remainder of the training program through Instrument and Commercial phases. This includes some training overrun and a complete refund of all fees after the PPC phase, should you fail to complete the program due to proficiency reasons.
