We’ve got you covered with the Career Training Smart Option Student Loan® through Sallie Mae. Through this scheme you can pay for all your eligible professional training and trade certificate course expenses for an entire year.

When it comes to how you’ll pay back your loan, you’re in control. You choose your type of interest rate, and the repayment option that works for you. The choices you make will affect how much your loan will cost you in the long run.

Repayment Options

Fixed interest rates always stay the same. If you want predictable monthly payments, this is the option for you.

Variable interest rates generally start out lower than fixed rates, but they can rise and fall, which means your payments may vary over time.

You can make extra payments whenever you want, which can help you pay off your loan sooner and save money. Sallie Mae never penalize you for paying off your loan early.

Eligibility Criteria

Sallie Mae Career Training Smart Options Student Loan: Eligibility criteria

  • U.S. Citizens and Permanent Resident Aliens are eligible.
  • Resident Alien with required U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) documentation.
  • Non-U.S. citizen students (including DACA students) who reside in and attend school in the U.S., are eligible with a creditworthy cosigner (who must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident) and are required to provide an unexpired government-issued photo ID to verify identity.
  • Those who meet current credit and other eligibility criteria.
  • If you still need funds after maximizing grants, scholarships, and federal student loans you can apply.
  • Anyone taking courses that do not qualify for federal student loans.
  • Students attending summer classes or continuing education classes.
  • Those who still need funds after maximizing grants, scholarships, and federal student loans.
  • Students taking courses that do not qualify for federal student loans.

How to Apply to Sallie Mae

Applying is easy! Students (or co-signers) can apply online. This takes approximately 15 minutes.

Once you have applied, you will receive your credit approval. This includes your estimated monthly payment amounts, interest rates, and total number of payments to help select your repayment option.

1: First, complete the application form online.
2: Under “Loan Needs,” select whether you are a student, co-signer, parent or sponsor.
3: For “Type of Program,” select “Career training school.”
4: Select “Florida” for the state.
5: Type in “Skyborne Airline Academy,” Skyborne will be an option to click on.
6: Provide requested information.
7. Once your account is established, you will have login credentials to check in anytime.

Meritize works with students, educators, and employers to help people excel in skills-based careers. Meritize can offer unsecured funding, with no co-sign requirement for eligible candidates who want to fund their flight training, up to the full amount, and beyond.
